Our promise about your data

Revised 2 November 2026

The short version of our data promise

Granitebaygames collects as little as a website can. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comment boxes, no analytics and no advertising trackers on this site. You can read every page without telling us who you are.

This page explains the small amount of data that does move when you visit, and the rights you have over it under Canadian privacy law.

Your watchlist stays in your own browser

When you heart a game, the watchlist is saved in your browser’s local storage, using a feature called localStorage. Your choice on the cookie notice is saved the same way. Neither is ever sent to us, and we have no way to see them.

Clearing your browser data, or using a private window, removes the watchlist and the cookie choice. If you share a watchlist link, the list of games travels in the link itself, so only the people you send it to will see it.

Typefaces delivered through Google Fonts

The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. To deliver the font files, Google receives your IP address and basic details about your browser, as it would for any website that uses the service.

Google handles that information under its own privacy policy. We do not receive it, and we have no access to any data Google collects when serving the fonts.

When you write to the editors

If you email us at [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message. We keep it only so we can reply and follow up on corrections or suggestions.

We never add correspondents to mailing lists, and we never share messages with anyone outside the editorial team. If you would like us to delete an old exchange, ask and we will.

Leaving for a game’s official site

Play buttons take you to each game’s official website in a new tab. Once you are there, the publisher’s own privacy policy governs what it collects, including anything you provide when you found a company or create an account.

We recommend reading the privacy policy of any game before you sign up, especially for games you plan to play for months.

Your rights under PIPEDA

Granitebaygames follows the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, known as PIPEDA. You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected and to have it deleted. In practice, the only personal information we ever hold is the email you chose to send us.

To make a request, write to [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this promise

If we ever change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the revision date at the top. We do not plan to add analytics, advertising trackers or accounts, and if that ever changed, this page would say so plainly before anything else did.
